The Artisan Story: Production Process

The Challenge: Larger blade sizes initially caused the canvas to curl into an unusable "C" shape, exposing the back.

The Breakthrough: Months of experimentation in early 2026 and thousands of dollars in wasted materials led to a proprietary process that keeps the canvas flat while preserving the vibrant NDU Colors palette.

The Seven-Step Process:

  1. Coating & Drying: Products undergo a seven-step coating process with an overnight dry between each layer.

  2. Precision: Blades remain in a whole sheet during applications to ensure uniform shrinkage.

  3. Curing: Sheets cure for several days to set shape and color.

  4. Finishing: Each fan is precision-cut by hand using specialized tools.

The Artisan Line: Overcoming this challenge yielded a premium, flat Collector’s Edition, Color Deck, and Color Guide—a triumph of craftsmanship driven by NDU Colors founder Larell Meier.
